Milk Caramels

Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cups lite corn syrup
- 3 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- Heat sugar and syrup in 1 cup milk; stir till dissolved.
- Cook, stir frequently, to 246–248°F (firm ball stage).
- Slowly add 2nd cup of milk.
- Repeat to temp (246–248°F).
- Add final cup of milk, butter, and salt.
- Cook back to 246–248°F.
- Test in cold water for desired firmness of caramel.
- Remove from heat and add vanilla.
- Pour into buttered 9" square pan.
- Cut into squares when cool.
